About Us

Our Journey

Tenacious Acres began in 2020. We are Scotty and Heidi, and have worked in the Real Estate world since 2012, but had been looking for our "forever home" for over 20 years. We would help our clients find their dream properties and help them sell their homes as well. Our specialty has been Acreages, and we have helped so many, but when we came across our home halfway between Lincoln and Omaha, we knew we needed to check it out. As soon as we drove onto the property, we knew this was it!

We started our homestead journey like many do. A few chickens for eggs then came horses, and for Heidi's 50th Birthday, she got mini donkeys. Next thing we knew, more chickens, and ducks, and we learned about sustainable farming. 25 broiler chickens made their way, and we learned what not to do and, more importantly, how to raise them right. We had family and friends looking for clean, organic food when the food chain collapsed, and we were in a place where we could help. Next came Idaho Pasture Pigs. As we learned about these amazing animals, we knew we wanted to try them. We found 6 feeder piglets and raised them for processing. We discovered a calling. Watching and caring for these animals and watching them grow, happy, healthy, and helping heal the land.

In 2024, we jumped both feet in, purchasing a registered boar, "Frank", and bred two feeders. We then decided to buy "Rose" and "Lilly" Registered IPP gilts for our future breeding mamas. During the first blizzard of 2025, Red gave us 7 beautiful bacon bits. We had so many clients wishing they had ordered more pork that we put the word out that we were looking for additional piglets. The farm that "Frank" came from reached out to let us know they had changes in their lives and offered their entire IPP stock to us. After lots of thoughtful prayers, we decided to take on the challenge. In April 2025, we grew significantly with additional registered IPPs and feeders. Scotty will have his hands full moving the pigs weekly to give them fresh grass, roots, and goodies. We still help clients buy and sell homes, land, and businesses, but our sanctuary is Tenacious Acres. Give us a call to see why.
